For our 10th Build-A-Brew collaboration with the Club at Tetrad, members chose to brew a hoppy cream ale. Cream Ale is characterized by a combination of ale and lager yeasts, allowing us to ferment the beer at cooler than normal temperatures, leading to smoother flavors and aromas. We pushed the boundaries of a traditional cream ale on this beer by utilizing processes like mash hopping, first wort hopping, whirlpool hopping, and dry hopping to create something closer to a session IPA than a light lager.
